Sterling Ranch: A Vision for the New WestSterling Ranch is a 3,400-acre proposed community in the Chatfield Basin that will embrace the rich Western heritage that has defined the state of Colorado. It will offer future residents an incredible lifestyle to live, learn, work, shop, recreate and worship. Sterling Ranch will set the future standard for sustainability in the New West with the land as our guiding force. Our desire is to accentuate the area’s natural beauty, retain its rural character and be a good steward of its precious resources. Our community will preserve 37% of the land for open space, wildlife corridors and parks for all to enjoy. We will use one-third of the water of a traditional development in Douglas County by employing cutting-edge technology and agricultural methods to conserve water and even grow some of our own food. Our homes will be clustered in walkable villages with pocket parks surrounded by open space. To create a unique sense of place, the villages will have their own special character with close-to-home elementary schools and a central gathering spot for coffee, dining, working and shopping. A state-of-the-art youth sports complex, along with 30 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails connecting two state parks, will enable our future residents to live the active outdoor spirit of Colorado. And, for the first time, the Chatfield Valley will have its own high school, middle school and higher education institution located right next to the youth sports complex and our Sterling Ranch Town Center. The $4.3 billion project will create more than 9,000 permanent jobs at build-out and nearly 1,000 new construction jobs each year for the next two decades. Development Research Partners has estimated that the proposed community will have an economic impact of more than $411 million annually. Our exceptionally livable community will be loyal to the unique ideals that helped to build the mighty West. Soon, future generations will be able to appreciate what drew frontiersmen and women here in the first place. More »
